WATERPROOFING SYSTEM FOR CONCRETE MORTAT BY CRYSTALLISATION

SALSEAL is a cementation compound designed for application to internal surfaces of walls and other solid floors of cellars basements and similar areas. SALSEAL ensures total and permanent solution to water leakages, seepage or egress in concrete structures.

MAIN USES

• Basements, tunnels, foundations, inspection pits, construction joints, sea defence walls, bridge decks, jetties, pontoons, retaining walls, life shafts, water tanks, reservoirs, swimming pools, water treatment works, dams, cannels, harbors, concrete pipes.
• SALSEAL works by formation of insoluble crystals with free lime present in the subtract. The crystal formation of insoluble crystals with free lime present in the subtract. The crystal formation penetrate deep into the capillary and ensures permanent water tightness since crystals penetrate to the depths to which water is present.
• SALSEAL is very effective on both negative and positive water pressure and can be applied to internal or external surfaces. In general it is advisable to apply SALSEAL on the surfaces with which the water is in direct contact.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surfaces to be treated must be free from oil, grease, dust, paints, or any other materials which impair adhesion or penetration of SALSEAL into the surface. Remove any latencies and provide an open pored and slightly rough surfaces. Hollow or de bonding renders must be removed and made good. Dry surfaces should be wetted for a period at 22 to 24 hours before application.

MIXING APPLICATION

Mix 2.25 to 2.50 parts at SALSEAL to 1 part of water by adding water to SALSEAL. Mix sufficient water to achieve the desired consistency do not add water after initial mixing (mix only quantity of SALSEAL which can be used in 20 to 25 minutes). SALSEAL mix is applied by brush or spray on dampened surfaces. It is applied in two coats at right angle to each other at an internal of 3 to 4 hours depending on climate conditions. Coats of SALSEAL must be prevented from drying our rapidly & should be kept damp for 5 to 7 days.
